Ravi Dahiya is the second seed in the 57kg category and he begins his campaign against Romania’s Razvan Marian Kovacs, who is ranked 63rd in the world. Dahiya is the favourite to reach the final so he is expected to sail though the matches on Friday without much fuss. Dahiya won the bronze in the 2019 World Wrestling Championships and now looks to win the coveted gold medal. However it will be easily said than done as he is in a tricky field. After his first round, he is likely to face Uzbekistan’s Gulomjon Abdullaev, who has beat Dahiya in the past. If he surpasses this challenge, he is likely to face Albania’s Zelimkhan Abakarov, who has defeated Dahiya earlier this year.

In the other matches on the day, Sagar Jaglan will begin his campaign in the 74kg category. Jaglan is just 18-years old and much recently won the Bronze medal in the U20 Wrestling Championships. He will face Israel’s Mitchell Louis Finesliver in the first round. In the 92kg category, Vicky will be up against Poland’s Radoslaw Marcinkiewicz in the opening round.

Meanwhile, CWG Gold medallist Naveen Malik who lost in the first round on Thursday has made it to the repechage round after his opponent in the first round reached the final and he will take on Kazhakhstan’s Syrbaz Talgat, who is ranked 8th in the world in the repechage round.
