- Stefanos Tsitsipas faced a big challenge against Daniil Medvedev in his previous contes, but he somehow managed to win the contest in three sets to keep his hopes alive in the tournament.
- The second seed yet again faces another challenge from a Rusian in Andrey Rublev in his final group match.

- Having been drawn in the same group alongside Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas, who are all past champions at the event, Rublev was the underdog in the group.
- However the Russian started the tournament with a victory against his compatriot Daniil Medvedev. However in the second game against Novak Djokovic he lost in straight sets.
- Despite the loss Rublev now has an opportunity to book a semifinal spot as a victory against Tsitsipas will help him finish second in his group behind Novak Djokovic.
- Rublev qualified for the tournament for the third successive year and is aiming to qualify for the semifinals for the first-time.
Tsitsipas vs Rublev Head-to-Head: Both the players faced each other 10 times in the past with Tsitsipas leading the head-to-head record 6-4. They have met twice this year with the Greek winning both the matches. Tey last met at the Astana Open and Tsitsipas sealed a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory. Tsitsipas will yet again look to defeat the Russian to book a spot in the semifinals.
