Yuzvendra Chahal has been the go-to man for India for a very long time. Chahal was a specialist in getting important breakthroughs. However, he has been out of the team since the second ODI against SriLanka. Earlier he played a three-match T20I series and one ODI against the Lankans. The right-arm spinner scalped 3 wickets in the T20 series and 1 wicket in the ODI match. Even though Chahal was not in good form, he cannot be neglected for the playing XI spot.

On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav played 5 ODI games, two against Asia Cup winners and three against the Black Caps. Kuldeep took 5 wickets in two ODI matches against the Lankans and 6 wickets in three matches against the Kiwis. The left-arm leg spinner has been in incredible form and taking wickets whenever the team needed a breakthrough. Although Yuzvendra Chahal is up in the playing XI race, Kuldeep Yadav cannot be forsaken after his performance.

The dilemma for the Indian team management is whether to select the more experienced Yuzvendra Chahal or the promising Kuldeep Yadav for the first T20 against New Zealand.
