Roger Federer Retires – Indian Cricketers HAIL Federer: Every good thing has to come to an end. And on Thursday, tennis legend Roger Federer announced his decision to retire from tennis via social media. The Swiss ace will however be competing in the Laver Cup next month in London. Federer, 41, has 20 major titles against his name in his illustrious career. Federer has always been regarded as one of the best tennis players to have ever played the sport. Roger Federer Retires: This decision of Federer does not come as a surprise. In the last couple of years or so, Federer has been troubled with injuries. As a result, he could not even feature in competition that he would love to, including the Grand Slams as well.
Considering he has made the decision before the Laver Cup, one can expect a huge crowd to witness him in competitive action for the last time.
“The last three years have presented me with challenges in the form of injuries and surgeries. I have worked hard to return to full competitive form. But I know my body limits. The message has been clear. I am 421 years old , more than 1500 matches in 24 years. ,…..Now I must recognize it is time to end my competitive career. The Laver Cup next week will be my last ATP event. I will play tennis in future, but no ion Grand Slams and on the tours,” Federer said in a video on social media.
