6-3 to Kudla, Kudla wins the first set

5-3 to Kudla, Kudla breaks Berrettini for the first time in the set to take lead.

3-2 to Kudla, Kudla has so far done well as he has heldon to his service games to lead 3-2.

First Set 

Berrettini, who is the second seed in the tournament enters the contest after defeating Dan Evans in straight sets in the first round of the tournament. Meanwhile, Kudla clinched a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Lorenzo Sonego in the opening round.

  • Matteo Berrettini started the year by reaching the semifinals at the Australian Open, he faced Rafae Nadal and bowed out after losing the match in four sets.
  • He then made a  quarterfinal exit from the Rio Open after losing against Carlos Alcaraz in three sets.
  • His next tournament was Indian Wells Masters, where he couldn’t go past the third round.
  • He then suffered a right hand injury and missed the whole clay court season after undergoing a surgery.
  • He made his comeback at Stuttgart and won the title straightaway by defeating Andy Murray in three sets in the final.
  • Being the defending champion at Queen’s Club, he is looking to win yet another title at London.

  • He then made a rousing comeback by winning the Phoenix Challenger title, defeating Daniel Altmaier in straight sets.
  • He began the clay court season with a first round exit at US Clay Court Championships. He then reached the semifinals at Sarasota Challenger and faced first round defeat at the French Open.
  • He began the Grass Court season by finishing as runner-up at the Surbiton Trophy but then faced first round defeat at the Stuttgart Open.
  • He had to play the qualifiers to enter the main draw of the Queen’s Club championship.

Berrettini vs Kudla Head-to-Head: This will be the fifth meeting between both these players. Both the players have won two games each from their four previous clashes. They last met on Grass at 2019 Stuttgart Open with Berrettini winning the contest in straight sets. Once again a similar result is expected as the Italian is the favourite.
