While he was seen on the field on Day 2, he was completely missing from action on Day 3. The only chance he will have for some batting practice if he opens for Leicestershire on Sunday.

- Designated openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill both struggled.
- Shreyas Iyer although played two attacking knocks of 30 and 32 in his second and third innings, he struggled in the first.
- Cheteshwar Pujara, despite his rich exploits in County, looked out of sorts, scoring a duck and 22 in two innings.
- Hanuma Vihari managed 3 & 20 in two innings.
- However, Virat Kohli, KS Bharat and Rishabh Pant hitting form would be a blessing.
- Kohli scored an attacking 67 in the second innings while KS Bharat scored 70 and 43 in two innings.
- Rishabh Pant slammed 76 in the first innings and can add more on the final day.
