India Playing XI 2nd T20: IND vs SA 2nd T20 LIVE: With two competitive matches left for Team India to prepare for T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma & Co do not have much time at hand to sort various issues. The batting has all but settled combinations. But it’s the bowling which will need a look-in despite terrific performance in the 1st T20 in Trivandram. While Jasprit Bumrah is all but ruled out of T20 WC. This means Deepak Chahar will get extended run in XI till Mohammed Shami comesback. Ravichandran Ashwin will stay in XI & that will mean Yuzi Chahal will keep warming the bench: Follow India vs SouthAfrica LIVE Updates with InsideSport.IN.

What changes in XI are expected?

  • India’s Top 4 are settled combinations going into the T20 World Cup.
  • Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul will open while Virat Kohli and Suryalumar Yadav are certainties.
  • At No 5, Hardik Pandya is the likely option in Australia.
  • But against South Africa in Guwahati, India could give Rishabh Pant or Dinesh Karthik promotion in BATTING ORDER
  • No Bumrah means – Deepak Chahar will get extended time in Playing XI
  • Ashwin will keep his place in XI & Chahal will warm the benches.

IND vs SA LIVE Score – Guwahati 2nd T20 LIVE – TOSS at 6:30PM: Meanwhile 2nd T20 in Guwahati will begin at 7PM. India will look to wrap 3 match series with win in 1st T20 already in bag. Rejig in Playing XI is on cards with Jasprit Bumrah down and out with the injury. The match can be interrupted by RAIN, though the starting time for the game stays the same at 7PM.

RAIN THREAT LOOMS on the match

  • There is a high chance (40%) of rain during the game.
  • A truncated game is a high possibility.
  • There are past concerns about the infrastructure available at the Barsapara Stadium in the event of having to get the ground ready after a rain spell.
  • In early 2020, a T20I between India and Sri Lanka had to be abandoned because of a wet pitch due to a faulty technique in the removal of covers.

IND SA 2ND T20 LIVE: Enthusiasm has been high among people in the run up to the match, with all tickets being all sold out for the first international cricket game since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The last international fixture at Barsapara Stadium here was an India-Sri Lanka T20 match on January 5, 2020, which was called off due to persistent rain.

At a pre-match media interaction, India head coach Rahul Dravid said it’s great to see fans back in the stadium. Since June, when things opened up, every time we play in India, every stadium has been packed. That’s a great thing.

I am sure the boys really appreciate the fans cheering for them, hopefully supporting good cricket. I think it’s a wicket that would support good cricket,” Dravid said.

The regional meteorological centre has forecast a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower for Guwahati on Sunday.

IND vs SA: Rain threat looms over sell-out 2nd T20I; arrangements in place, say organisers

The organisers, meanwhile, said they have put in place all arrangements to minimise time loss in the event of rain.
The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has imported two “extremely lightweight” pitch covers from the US. It already has around 20 covers at its disposal.

“These imported covers ensure that water or moisture does not seep into the pitch,” ACA secretary Devajit Saikia had said. The stadium can accommodate around 39,000 people.

What will be the India – South Africa Playing XI?

India TEAM CAMP: The hosts have added Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj to the squad should they need to bolster their bowling with experience. But they are unlikely to do so. Only change can be that team may be tempted to rest Suryakumar Yadav and bring in Shreyas Iyer. Though chances of the same is remote.

Probable XI: Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Axar Patel, R. Ashwin, Deepak Chahar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh

South Africa TEAM CAMP: The Proteas are unlikely to be forced into a knee-jerk reaction despite the Trivandrum reversal but they do have the option for an extra quick in Lungi Ngidi for one of their two left-arm spinners.

Probable XI: Temba Bavuma (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Rilee Rossouw, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs, Wayne Parnell, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi
