IND ENG 1st T20 – Rohit Sharma FITNESS TEST: Indian captain Rohit Sharma is finally out of isolation. After having tested negative for COVID-19, he did his 1st practice session on Sunday. He will now have to undergo mandatory cardiovascular tests today. “Yes, Rohit has tested negative and as per medical protocols is now out of quarantine. However, he did not play T20 warm-up game against Northamptonshire as he will need some recovery time and training ahead of first T20,” a senior BCCI official told PTI.
Rohit Sharma FITNESS TEST: The 35-year-old all-format captain did his 1st NETS Session on Sunday. The session did not last more than 30 Minutes.
He will now appear for FITNESS Test on Monday to determine his FITNESS.
As per medical protocol, any player, who is out of quarantine, needs to undergo mandatory cardiovascular tests. These tests are conducted to check the lung capacity and how it is functioning post COVID-19.

He missed out on playing the rescheduled fifth Test against England as he tested positive on the second day of the four-day warm-up game against Leicestershire.
The Indian team was desperate to play Rohit but he tested positive thrice before the game day and hence India had a new captain in Jasprit Bumrah.
The T20 series starts from July 7. It means that the player has much more time to get back to full fitness and lead Team India in the series.
