Daily Express appoints Lister political editor and head of politics

Daily Express has tapped Sam Lister to serve as political editor and head of politics. In her new role, Lister will integrate the political print and digital operations, and will oversee the political content.

Previously, Lister held the post of deputy political editor. Before joining the Daily Express, she was at Press Association for more than seven years, where she worked as a political correspondent.

Instead, the new version only provides a more general description of her responsibilities, noting her role “encompasses a range of parliamentary and diplomatic duties.” It also notes that the Queen may still receive visiting heads of state, but will no longer pay state visits.

Be sure to congratulate Lister on Twitter.
