Chemin Esports maintained their lead and finished top while a setback was handed to the Fan-favorite Team SouL. Meanwhile, Team GODLike edged TSM (Tribreaker and went through due to the high number of chicken dinners) to make it through to the weekly finals. The top 16 teams have qualified for the weekly finals which start on 8 July 2022. Here are all the excerpts of each match on day 4 week 3.
With only three matches left to be played, Team SouL was on the brink of missing out on the Week 3 finals. The opening match of the day was played between Group B and Group C on the Erangel map. Team SouL was caught napping once the zone hard-shifted to the eastern side. They were immediately wiped out.
In the last circles, FS Esports had numerical superiority over Enigma Gaming and GODLike but they failed miserably. However, the match had a fitting end with two of GODLike went head to head against two of Enigma Gaming. Enigma Gaming eventually had the advantage due to zone but the final moving zone helped GODLike as Neyoo finished off brilliantly to secure the WWCD and keep their hopes alive. Eggy of Enigma Gaming was the MVP of the match.
With the back against the wall, Team SouL was desperate to prove their metal. The second match of the day was played between Group A and Group C on the Sanhok map. Just like previous Sanhok maps, the game started with every team playing it safe.
In the closing stages of the match, Team SouL had already secured a perfect area to dominate. Moreover, they also have numerical superiority over Nigma Galaxy and Team Insane. However, the game will be remembered as one of the most entertaining clutch victories. MAC of Team Insane showed immense composure by not attacking Hydra earlier. Taking full advantage of the opponents, MAC ended their hope.
However, the job was not done yet. Team SouL had a 2v1 advantage against MAC. But the guy from Insane was on a different level as he wiped out Akshat and Goblin with gut-wrenching sprays to claim the WWCD. This will surely be one of the most unexpected wins of the competition. Goblin was the MVP of the match.
With each fighting for points, everything was at stake for the bottom 8 teams. Team SouL was also one of them. The final match of the week 3 qualifiers featured Group A and Group C on the Erangel map.
Team SouL was shown the exit door early into the match when a grenade of Aadi landed on all of them. Nigma Galaxy once again came up with a high finish as they have 4v1v1v4 against Skylightz and 8bit. Eventually, it became 4v4 and the stage was set for a grandstand finish. Blind Esports players opted to spray from a buggy and it eventually helped them to secure the WWCD.
Week 3 Qualifiers has certainly lived up to expectations. Some of the teams rose through the ranks while some of them missed out. Chemin Esports remained at the top while XO was consistent throughout the qualifiers as they finished second. Following them are Orangutan, Global Esports, and Team Enigma Forever. Here are the overall standings of the Week 3 Qualifiers.
So, the top 16 teams have qualified for the Weekly Finals. The points from Qualifiers will not add to the overall standing score but the Weekly finals will. So, it will be crucial for all the teams who are getting the final opportunity to get into the top 16 of the overall standings.
