Badminton Asia Junior Championship LIVE: No.1 seed Unnati Hooda will headline Day 2 action at the Badminton Asia Junior Championship on Wednesday, 30th November 2022. Unnati, who is competing in the U-17 Girls singles, will look to seal a spot in the pre-quarterfinals of the tournament as she will be up against Indonesia’s Dea Nur Fadilla. In the U-15 Girls Singles, second seed Tanvi Sharma will begin her campaign in the second round as she will be up against Thailand’s Passa-Orn Phannachet. In U-17 Boys Singles, fifth seed Dhruv Negi will face Thailand’s Panya Phutthiphraisakul in the third round. In the U-15 Boy’s Singles,  Seventh seed Tankara Gnanan Talasila will be up against Hong Kong’s Cheung Sai Shing in the second round.

India has sent a strong 36-member contingent for Nonthaburi, Thailand to compete in the Badminton Asia U-17 & U-15 Junior Championships 2022, scheduled from November 29 to December 4.

In the Under-17 Girls Singles, apart from Unnati Hooda, India will also have unseeded Anmol Kharb, who will face Thailand’s Ratnacha Sompoch. Unnati Hooda began her campaign in round of 64 match and thrashed Japan’s Misato Sasaki 21-11, 21-5 in 24 minutes to enter the third round. Meanwhile, Anmol Kharb won both her contests to move into the round of 32. She defeated Singapore’s Chujei Jennifer 21-11, 21-14 before getting the better of Wening Sabrina of Indonesia 21-19, 21-10.

In Under-15 Girls Singles, Sampriti Pal defeated Keira Indriyan of Indonesia in the round of 128 match in three games. She will now face Japan’s Ria Haga in the second round. Fifth seed Isha Negi and Suhasi Verma will begin their campaign from the second round as they will be up against Thailand’s Lada Na Nakorn and South Korea’s Lada Na Nakorn respectively.

In the boys Under-17, Dhruv Negi defeated Singapore’s Nge Joo Jin 21-19, 19-21, 21-17 in a close match that lasted 43 minutes, while Neer Nehwal will be up against Japan’s Kazumo Kawano.

In U-15 Boys Singles, Mohammad Ali Mir will face Thailand’s Paramat Pumleng, while Anish Thoppani and Abhinav Garg will face Indonesia’s Maharishiel Gain and South Korea’s Kim Tae Hyun respectively.

There is no official live stream or telecast of the event in India. Badminton Asia is likely to screen the games on its YouTube channel. However, there is no official confirmation. The action begins at 9:00 AM tomorrow morning.
