IND vs SA ODI Series: On October 6, 9, and 11, India will host South Africa for three one-day internationals (ODIs) in Lucknow, Ranchi, and Delhi, respectively.
India last faced South Africa in an ODI series in January of this year, and they lost all three games. The Men in Blue will now try to take revenge for that series’ defeat when they take on Proteas in the City of Nawabs on Thursday.
The Indian players are currently in Lucknow and the practice for the first ODI match has started. While Dhawan’s team plays 1st ODI tomorrow, the ICC T20 World Cup-bound team will fly for Perth on the same day. Meanwhile, the SA team will reach Lucknow on Wednesday for 50-over series.

Despite India missing their star players, India will be hoping to deliver in the ODI series. With India already having clinched the T20 series, Dhawan’s side has the players and the class to register another series win in the ODI format as well. However, it is not going to be a cakewalk as they will face a strong South African side.

IND SA ODI TIMING: Pitch Report
The venue of the clash is Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. Up to this point, this stadium has played host to three one-day internationals, all of which included the West Indies and Afghanistan in November 2019.
So, on Thursday, this location will host the first ODI between India and South Africa.
The black soil pitch at this surface, while generally a decent pitch for the hitters, does give the pacers the extra zip and bounce off the surface, with the spinners also likely to enter the game later on.
Overall, the pitch is still biased in favor of the batters, who will probably score enough runs after some time on the field.
Shikhar Dhawan (c), Shreyas Iyer (vc), Ishan Kishan (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubhman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Rahul Tripathi, Shahbaz Ahmed, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Mukesh Kumar, Avesh Khan, Mohammed Siraj, Deepak Chahar.
